Why not learn how to play improvised jazz music from a seasoned pro?  Rory McInroy, leading Oxfordshire jazz pianist, has been running workshops for teenagers and adults who want to learn to improvise since the mid-90s.  All instruments are welcome, and a range of abilities is catered for (although basic familiarity with your instrument is assumed).  Confidence is built up with games and exercises at the start, so no previous experience of improvising is neccessary.

Workshops run from 10.00am - 3.00pm (you need to bring a packed lunch), and as the day progresses a couple of jazz standard tunes are introduced, culminating in a performance around 2.30pm, should any friends or family want to come and listen!  The cost for the day is £35.00

Currently workshops take place in the wonderful environment of

THE PILATES BARN, LEAFIELD FARM, QUENINGTON, GLOS. GL7 5DG.

The Barn has great facilities and acoustics, and is set amidst beautiful rolling Cotswold scenery. The workshops are administered by Bob Iles, the owner of the venue - to book a place, contact him on 01285 750729.

Check the home page of this site for the dates of upcoming workshops.
